The 1976 Minnesota Vikings squad improved to an 8-1-1 record with a closely-fought victory over the expansion Seattle Seahawks, who dropped their record to 2-8 with this Week 10 loss.
The 1976 Vikings would cruise to an NFC Central Division championship with an 11-2-1 record, beat Washington and the Los Angeles Rams in NFC playoff contests but ultimately lose to the Oakland Raiders in Super Bowl XI.
The 1976 Vikings team was lead by quarterback Fran Tarkenton on offense and featured Chuck Foreman at running back, and Sammy White and Ahmad Rashad at wide receiver. The Vikings fielded the famed Purple People Eaters defense.
The expansion Seahawks featured Jim Zorn at quarterback and Steve Largent and former (and future) Viking Sam McCullum at wide receiver.
