Is it just me or is Adrian Peterson‘s constant proclaiming his greatness getting a little…childish?
It was sorta cute and fun the first few times with his back and forth with Chris Johnson but I hope we’re not going to have to hear this week-to-week.
Now, if he could pull it off like Muhammad Ali…it’d be a different story. Found at YouTube from shammi13.
I’ve got feeling that’s not going to happen, so here’s an idea: How bout they both shut up about it till the end of the season when one or the other can, definitively and with proof, say, “I toldya so.”
PLAYER OF THE WEEK
That said, Adrian Peterson is off to a great start to being The Greatest.
He’s already been named NFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance Sunday, the fourth time he’s earned the distinction.
Also, this week he’s up for the FedEx Ground NFL Player of the Week award.
His competition?
Chris Johnson, of course, as well as Rashard Mendenhall. [VOTE.]
5th
The Vikings defense is ranked fifth overall in the NFL.
PRACTICE SQUAD MOVES
The Vikings released Golden Gopher cornerback Marcus Sherels this week in order to sign tight end John Nalbone (6’4″, 255 lbs., 2nd year–draft profile) to the practice squad.
You’ll remember that the Vikings tried to slip their draft pick, tight end Mickey Shuler through waivers to sign to the practice squad but lost him to the Miami Dolphins.
Nalbone was cut by the Dolphins to make room for Shuler, so we essentially got what Miami considered the inferior player of the two.
TRYOUTS
The Vikings brought in two offensive linemen and two kickers for tryouts Tuesday, the Strib‘s Judd Zulgad reports.
The lineman were tackle Scott Kooistra (6’6″, 335 lbs., in his 8th year) and guard Donald Thomas (6’4″, 310 lbs., in his third year–Combine Profile).
The kickers were Hunter Lawrence (6′, 187 lbs, rookie) and Swayze Waters (5’11”, 178 lbs., rookie).
