The Minnesota Vikings new linebackers coach is Hall of Fame linebacker, Mike Singletary. Singletary was taken with the 38th overall pick in the second round of the 1981 by the Chicago Bears. Singletary played 12 seasons and was twice named NFL Defensive Player of the Year (1985, 1988), Singletary was the Bears’ first- or second-leading tackler each of his last 11 seasons.
He was the epitome of an intense, intimidating middle linebacker and the closeup shot of his eyes became an NFL cliché for intensity.
