Steve Jordon Highlights

Flashback Friday

Former Vikings tight end Steve Jordan was inducted into the team’s Ring of Honor during halftime of the Vikings game last night.

The Vikings picked Jordan in the seventh round of the 1982 draft and he ended his career in 1994 with the Vikings.

During that span, Jordan was selected to six consecutive Pro Bowls from 1986 to 1991 and earned All-Pro honors in 1989. He ended his career with 6,307 yards from 498 receptions and scored 28 touchdowns.

Though Joe Senser was the first Vikings tight end that fits the modern conception of a receiving threat, his brilliant career was cut short by injury.

Jordan emerged as the Vikings’ starting tight end in 1984, Senser’s last season before retiring, and began to compile the plays and numbers that put him into the Ring of Honor on Thursday.
