Vikings Waive WR Josh Doctson
The Vikings waived wide receiver Josh Doctson after only playing for a handful of snaps in Purple.
So at least Laquon Treadwell has that going for him. Which is nice.
Linebacker Cameron Smith Activated
Up and down and now up again. The Vikings have activated linebacker Cameron Smith to place him on the 53-man roster. Again.
Vikings Sign Johnny Stanton
The Vikings signed fullback Johnny Stanton to the practice squad, presumably to replace Khari Blasingame who, sadly, was poached by the Titans.
Stanton (6-2, 250) was waived by the Vikings at the end of the 2018 season, where he was placed on injured reserve during preseason after sustaining a knee injury. He spent the entirety of training camp in 2018 with the Vikings after signing with the team as an undrafted free agent.
Stanton attended Nebraska before transferring to Saddleback College and eventually ending his career at UNLV.
He was a quarterback in college before changing to fullback with the Vikings. Stanton played in 14 games with the Rebels, completing 105 passes on 195 attempts for 10 touchdowns and 77 rushing attempts for 327 yards and three touchdowns.
Chad Beebe Done For The Year
Wide receiver Chad Beebe never made it off the injured reseve list. He has reportedly had surgery on his ankle and is out for the year.
Beebe was a tantalizing addition to the receiving corps, especially after seeing his speed on a 61-yard catch-and-run in Green Bay that was ultimately nullified by a penalty.
Beebe missed time last year due to hamstring issues.
