Vikings Activate Holton Hill
The Vikings have activated cornerback Holton Hill from injured reserve to the 53-man roster.
Hill (6-2, 196) was originally signed with the Vikings as an undrafted free agent in 2018.
He made his first career start against New Orleans in week eight of his rookie season. The Houston, Texas, native has appeared in 16 career games for the Vikings, including three starts.
Hill recorded 34 tackles and ranked third on the team in 2018 with seven passes defended.
Vikings Waive Cameron Smith
The Vikings waived linebacker Cameron Smith to make room for Hill.
Prior to being elevated to the 53-man roster, Smith (6-2, 235) spent the first five weeks of the season on the team’s practice squad after being waived during final cuts.
Originally selected by Minnesota in the fifth round (162nd overall) of the 2019 NFL Draft, the Granite Bay, California, native was named USC’s team MVP following his senior season in 2018.
Smith led the Trojans in tackles as a sophomore, junior and senior, becoming the first USC player to do so in three consecutive seasons since Dennis Johnson did so from 1977-1979.
